Meet Jeff Dehart, Vice President of Risk Advisory Services

Martindale Consultants is expanding its advisory capabilities with the addition of Jeff Dehart as Vice President of Risk AdvisoryWith more than 30 years of experience helping boards of directors, audit committees, and executive leadership teams navigate governance, risk, and fraud prevention. His background adds a broad perspective to a growing area of service at Martindale.

His arrival comes as organizations face an increasingly complex risk landscapeTechnology continues to change how businesses operate.  Supply chains are evolving, and capital projects carry significant financial and operational exposure.  At the same time, organizations are managing new challenges related to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, fraud, and business continuity.

Martindale’s Risk Advisory team works with organizations to identify vulnerabilities, strengthen controls, and build more resilient operations. The objective is not simply to identify what could go wrong, but to help management understand risk, make informed decisions, and build practical processes that support the organization’s goals.

Experience That Extends Across Risk and Operations

Jeff has spent his consulting career working with organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to mid-sized businesses and nonprofit organizations. His industry experience includes oil and gas, manufacturing, aerospace, construction, and nonprofit organizations.

He has served as an outsourced Chief Audit Executive for four major organizations, leading enterprise risk assessments, internal audit strategies, and board-level reporting. He has also led fraud investigations, developed vendor risk management programs, and advised on construction controls.  Additionally, he has established supply chain consulting practices and developed business continuity and resilience programs.

That experience gives Jeff an understanding of how risks can intersect across an organization. A vendor or supplier issue can affect operations, while weak controls can create opportunities for fraud. A technology vulnerability can become a critical business problem. An emergency event can become a business operations continuity concern. A construction project can face cost, schedule, and quality risks simultaneously.

Effective risk advisory requires looking at those connections rather than evaluating each issue in isolation.

Turning Risk Management Into a Strategic Advantage

Risk management is often associated with preventing problems, but effective risk advisory goes further. Understanding risk can help leadership make better decisions about where to invest resources, which controls matter most, and where an organization may have opportunities to improve.

That practical approach is central to Jeff’s work. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations translate complex governance and risk concepts into strategies that leadership teams can actually use.

His professional credentials include Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP). He is also an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Disaster Recovery Institute International.

Jeff has shared his expertise as a frequent speaker and educator, presenting at local and international Institute of Internal Auditors conferences and events hosted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, COPAS, the AICPA, and client organizations.

For Martindale, adding Jeff and expanding Risk Advisory Services represents an opportunity to help clients address challenges that extend beyond traditional financial and accounting functions.

Organizations do not have to wait for a disruption, control failure, fraud event, or major project problem to evaluate their risk environment. A proactive approach can help identify vulnerabilities, strengthen processes, and give leadership greater confidence in the decisions ahead.

With Jeff leading the practice, Martindale is positioned to bring that approach to organizations looking to better understand their risks, strengthen their operations, and build resilience for the future.
