A
1981 graduate of the University
of
New Orleans with a B.S. in Finance, Mike worked for Conoco Inc. in various positions of responsibility. These included financial analysis, internal reviews, joint interest, negotiation of agreements and settlements of joint
interest and revenue disputes. Mike
is considered to be a prominent authority for
Gulf of Mexico
offshore operations and has performed reviews in
Australia, Barbados, and Brazil. Mike
is currently the Vice-President on the COPAS National Board of Directors, has
served as the Chair of the COPAS Audit Committee and a past Chair of the COPAS
Emerging Issues Subcommittee; he has also served as President of COPAS of
Acadiana. Mike was a member of
the team that drafted the new COPAS 2005 Accounting Procedure and was a
member of teams that wrote recent publications on recommendations for
allocating offshore marine, aircraft, and shorebase costs; the
determination of well cost adjustments; recommendations for the
calculation of drilling days; and definitions and chargeability of awards. Mike received the 2004 COPAS Eagle Award for outstanding service to
COPAS.
